PLANNED CONSTRUCTION:

Lane Closures possible Sunday 11/19 through Tuesday 11/21 between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM as follows: 

  • CT Route 66 EB (Ramp 9N 6E to Ramp 6EPA) right lane closure, Sunday, 11/19, for temporary barrier installation
  •  I-691 EB (Exit 17 to Exit 20) right lane closure for temporary barrier installation– Sunday, 11/19, between 7:00 PM and 6:00 AM.
  • I-91 NB (Exit 17 to Exit 20) double right lane closure for bridge haunch removal – Monday, 11/20 and Tuesday 11/21, between 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Ramp Closures (Between 10:00 PM and 6:00 PM) 

  • Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, 11/19, 11/20 and 11/21I-691 WB (Ramp 6W 9N) Ramp closure for bridge haunch removal

No lane or ramp closures are anticipated Wednesday, 11/22 through Sunday, 11/26 over the Thanksgiving Holiday, except in case of emergency.

Monday, November 27, through Friday, December 1, during daytime hours, between 7 AM and 3 PM, crews will be conducting bridge excavation work at Preston Avenue. This work will require alternating one-way traffic on Preston Avenue.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS: Work will be conducted primarily during nighttime hours, from 8 PM to 6 AM and occasionally during daytime hours from 7 AM to 3 PM. One or two travel lanes along I-691 eastbound and westbound, I-91 northbound, and CT-66 westbound may be closed to traffic while nighttime work is underway. Closures may also occur at the I-691 East and West off-ramps to I-91 North (Exit 1A) and the Route 66 West off-ramp to I-91 North. Off-ramp detours will be signed for motorists. During daytime construction, alternating one-way traffic will occur on Preston Avenue. Motorists are reminded to use caution and be attentive as they travel throughout the work zone.
